This publication brings together over five decades of work by artist Robert Flynt in dialogue with the practice of Ash Allen. The notion of “becoming” emerges here as a way of naturalizing the condition of those homosexual bodies that, through dissidence, have disrupted normative frameworks, opening up new ways of understanding masculinity as non-linear and in constant transformation. These images bring together desire, eroticism, spirituality, and visual codes to reimagine the male body. They move beyond the static, immersing us in layered forms of “otherness,” challenging the control of apparent logic and disrupting pre-established vocabularies of toxic masculinity. Printed in risograph, Ash Allen offers a historical reading of Bob Flynt’s mystical and radical practice, creating a dialogue between archive, affect, and contemporary reinterpretation.
